Andrzej Wajda is one of the most honoured Polish director. Two nominations to Oscar Award and Oscar Award in 2000 summerizing his work. Below you find the uncomplete list of Wajda's films with a little bit of information about it. These titles have DVD editions and can be found in the Internet shops. We will do our best to update the list shortly.

Kanal (1957)
After the German destruction of Warsaw that followed the 1944 ghetto uprising, a small band of Polish soldiers and partisans attempts to escape through the city's sewers. Tadeusz Janczar stars in Andrzej Wajda's gripping war drama. 96 min. In Polish with English subtitles.

Ashes And Diamonds (1958)
Andrzej Wajda's haunting look at Poland on the final day of World War II, as a young Resistance fighter shoots the wrong man and is captured by the newly appointed Communist authorities. 105 min. In Polish with English subtitles.

Lotna (1959)
Andrzej Wajda's first color film is set in 1939 Poland, where a majestic, white Arabian mare named Lotna ("swift one") serves a valiant cavalry captain (Jerzy Pichelski) defending a country ravaged by war. After the captain is killed in action, the horse so coveted by the other officers is passed along through their ranks as the ragtag squadron battles the invading German army. 90 min. In Polish with English subtitles.

Landscape After Battle (1970)
After being freed from a concentration camp, Polish intellectual Tadeusz is relocated to an overpopulated housing project. As he becomes more and more disillusioned with his surroundings and his fellow former prisoners' venal behavior, Tadeusz meets Nina, a world-weary but beautiful young woman who may be his only chance at reclaiming a normal life. Andrzej Wajda's powerful drama, based on the experiences of Holocaust survivor Tadeusz Borowski. 101 min. In Polish with English subtitles.

Promised Land (Land Of Promise) (1974)
This is one of Wajda's top cinematic achievements: Oscar-nomianted production based on Nobel-winner, Wladyslaw Reymont's book under the same title. At the turn of the 20th century, three industrialists-a Pole, a German and a Jew-open a textile factory in Lodz, Poland, but encounter problems ranging from employees' demands for better wages to the Polish businessman's affair with a merchant's wife. 138 min. In Polish with English subtitles.

Man Of Marble (1977)
Andrzej Wajda's masterpiece about Polish life after World War II follows a film student's efforts to make a documentary about a lauded bricklayer whose life was ruined when he interfered with political affairs. Stylistically similar to "Citizen Kane," the film remains quite controversial and was followed by "Man of Iron" in 1981. 165 min.  In Polish with English subtitles.

Zemsta (The Revenge) (2002)
Two 17th-century aristocratic broods, locked in a bitter family feud, are forced to live together in the same castle. As the head of each clan tries to gain control of the manor, their families are consumed by their own selfishness and greed. 100 min. In Polish with English subtitles.
