6/03/2007 This is a handfull of hopefully useful info. Public transport in Krakow is not expensive, reliable and efficient. Ticket valid on trams and buses can be purchaser in kiosks and MPK (Public Transport Company) ticket centres and, with a surcharge, from the driver. |

Below you will find some ideas how to spend time in more active way - castles, caves, rocks... Pieskowa Skala - approx. distance: 20 km, The Gothic Royal Castle, erected on a rock promontory in the Pradnik Valley by King Kazimierz Wielki (Casimir The Great) later became privsate property. |

Yes, this is not an option for those who love only to sit and sip their drinks... We would like to send you in the most beautiful parts of Poland, where nature can be very demanding to its visitors. From comfortable hotel in Krakow, through sharp edges of Tatra Mountains and deep water of Dunajec River to Wilderness of Bieszczady, where wolves still can be seen on their forest paths... Oskar Schindler's Factory |

The German industrialist Oskar Schindler established an enamelware factory in Podgorze, Krakow. For its purposes a sub-camp called "Emalia" was created. He attempted to protect his Jewish workers, some 900 people, from abuse in Plaszow and from deportation to extermination camps. When he moved the factory and his Jewish work force to the Sudetenland (an area formerly in Czechoslovakia) in 1944, he prevented the deportation of more than 1,000 Jews. |
