In April, to mark the 160th anniversary of the death of Poland’s most famous composer, Chopin, the Scottish town, Perth, will resound with Polish classical music: Chopin, Górecki and Szymanowski, as well as jazz, straight from… Bydgoszcz. During yet another edition of the festival Scottish Tides - Polish Spring, we shall have an opportunity to savour music produced by such famous performers as Katia Skanavi, Nikolai Demidenko, Hebrides Ensemble, Sing Sing Penelope and the Pomorska Philharmonic. And during the unusual show The Eastern Diaspora, there will be a chance to explore Scotland and Poland’s shared past. |
