Two Stories Exhibition PDF Print E-mail

Two Stories ExhibitionAn exhibition of photographs and words telling of the destruction of Poland by Soviet Russia, together with Britain’s role in its demise.
The Two Stories exhibition has been designed by Devon photographer and writer Susan Young who uses photographic art to describe events that are little known in Britain. Her aim is to explore the lost history linking Poland and Britain and correct misconceptions held here  about Poland and its past.
The images are some of the last photographs to be taken at Ilford Park, Newton Abbot, before its demolition. Stover camp, as it was originally known,  was the last Polish resettlement camp remaining in the UK. The photographs of the derelict camp are chosen to illustrate, in a symbolic fashion,  the tragic story of Poland.
